COJGA Tournament of Champions Concludes 2010 Season.
Everyone at the Awards banquet, following today's annual COJGA Tournament of Champions, Paid tribute to the 2010 winners in their division as well as the boys and girls "most improved players" for the season. Andy Rodby captured the 16 and over crown with a two under par 70, on the Woodlands at Sunriver. Madi Mansberger (84) and Madison Odiorne (78) prevailed in the two varsity girls categories. Mansberger also was honored as this year's most improved girl. Nathan Pajutee was named most improved boy, but was not present to receive his award.
Other divisional winners: Mason Rodby (74) Boys 14-15 Division; Declan Watts (77) Boys12-13 Division; Rhett Pedersen (39) Boys 9-11 Division; Riley Goldstein (46) Boys 9 holes Division (12 and older); Dawson Magidson (39) Boys Short Course; Alyssa Kerry (47) Girls 9 Holes Division (12 and older); Mika Paligo (45) Girls Short Course.

2011 COJGA ... What you should know
The 2011 COJGA season will be here before you know it. Here are some things you should know if you plan to play next season..

3. How do I sign up for tournaments? Entry forms for Series I will be on line in June.
4. You are responsible to know the Rules of COJGA and USGA Rules of Golf and take a open book test before playing in a COJGA Tournament. Click Here for rules. Click here to print rules test.

5. How do I know my tee time or volunteer assignments? They will be posted on line the week before the tournament. They may change daily. Notice the Tee Times/Vol. asignment tab above.

Three time PGA tour winner  speaks at banquet
Champions tour member and three time regular tour winner Olin Browne spoke at the COJGA Award Banquet Sunday night. Browne is currently number 17 on the Champions Tour money list. Browne highlighted his career, from his starting golf at age 19, though memories of shooting a second round 59 in the U.S.Open qualiying event, which required 36 holes of golf on a single day in hot, humid wheather, to his routine as he prepares for a competitive round on the champions tour.
Parents and players alike gave Browne a standing ovation after his captivating presentation. Be assured his gallery for the Jeld-Wen Tradition this week will be large.

Moore Wins Scholarship
Landon Moore was presented with the $500 COJGA college scholarship Sunday evening. Moore plans to attend OSU in the fall and hopes to play college golf as a walk on. Each year COJGA awared a scholarship to a member or past member of COJGA to assist with their college expenses. Applicatiions for 2011 scholarship are due by August 1st.

Raffle winner drawn 
The Drawing for the 2010 Fundraiser Raffle was held at the awards Banquet. The winner of the Bandon Dunes golf package was Mayson Tibb's grandfather. Cindy Forte won two nights at the beautiful Overleaf Resort in Yachats, Oregon and the $500 shopping spree went to the Phil Olsen family. Top raffle sales prizes went to Ryan Blackwell, Seth Chilcutt and Zach Mode. Blackwell sold 146 tickets.. 

What Division Are You In?
TO CLEAR UP SOME CONFUSION ... IF YOU'RE 12 OR OLDER AND PLAY 18 HOLES OR ARE IN THE 9-11 DIVISIONS AND PLAY THE "FORWARD TEES", CIRCLE ADVANCED. IF YOU'RE 12 OR OLDER AND PLAY ONLY 9 HOLES, CIRCLE NOVICE. 9-11 SHORT COURSE PLAYERS SHOULD CIRCLE SHORT COURSE.
